Is Higher Wattage Better for gel

A: No. Wattage does not equal curing power.

1. Wattage = Electricity Consumption, Not Cure Strength
Wattage only tells you how much power the lamp pulls from the wall. A 120W lamp can cure worse than a 48W lamp if the LEDs are cheap or placed wrong.
Think of it like a light bulb: 100W does not mean “brighter light” if the bulb is bad.

2. What actually matters = NM + Chip Type + Light Placement
NM = Nanometer wavelength. Gel formulas cure at specific wavelengths, usually 365nm UV and 405nm LED. If your lamp doesn’t hit both, hard gel, builder, and some gel polishes will stay soft.
LED + UV Hybrid chips = Cures all gel types. LED-only or UV-only lamps miss formulas.
Even light distribution = Lights on top, sides, and bottom. Top-only lamps leave thumbs and sidewalls uncured = peeling.

3. What to look for instead of wattage
– Hybrid 365nm + 405nm diodes for full cure
–  30s, 60s, 99s Low-Heat modes to prevent heat spikes with builder
– Auto sensor + Even light spread so no spots are missed

Wattage is a power bill.
